Lion Brand Yarn Mandala

• Cast On
  • Pick up a ball of chunky yarn and a large pair of knitting needles and start knitting.
  • Make a slip knot at the start of the cast
  • Take the long end of the yarn and loop it around your left hand.
  • Insert the needle through the bottom of the loop and pull.
  • Repeat the sequence to cast on a further 10 stitches.
• Knit Stitch
  • Turn your work clockwise and transfer the needle with the cast-on stitches to your left hand.
  • Thread the right needle through the bottom of the top stitch and work from the left side to the right side.
  • Wrap the working thread counterclockwise around the right needle.
  • Pull the thread down through the stitch
  • Repeat the knit stitch to the end of the row.
  • Turn your work over, change the needle with the stitches to your left hand, and knit the next row.
• Cast Off
  • Knit the first 2 stitches as usual.
  • Insert the left needle into the bottom stitch of the right needle.
  • Bringing the bottom stitch up and over the top stitch
  • Knit another stitch as usual
  • Lift the new lower stitch up and over the stitch you just knitted.
  • Repeat the sequence to the end of the row to complete the casting.
